Introduction/Runs 1-4

Hey everyone,

My New Year's resolution this year was to run 100 times in 2015. That might not seem like a daunting goal, but given the other things on my to-do list (passing my boards, starting third year of medical school), necessary cross training, and the weather (coupled with my tendency to fall off of treadmills), I think it's a reasonable goal.

This blog is mostly to keep me accountable. I'll post about each run and hopefully there will be 100 posts (well, 97 as the first four are consolidated here!)

Run 1 (1/1) his was a short loop through my neighborhood in 20something degree (but sunny) weather. I woke up in a majorly stinky mood, slightly improved by some amazing green chilaquiles that J made. The run was freezing - after 40 minutes I was still cold to the touch - but it majorly uplifted my mood. J was excited that I might be in such a good mood 99 times this year.

Run 2 (1/5) - went to Breitenbush over the weekend and did some yoga and a wonderful winter-y hike, but no run. This was a longer run through the neighborhood and I was definitely rested and strong. Felt great.

Run 3 (1/9) - Hawthorne/Steel Bridge loop. Caught a bit of sun and was grateful to squeeze it in before a decadent evening of cocktails, pizza, and dessert.

Run 4 (1/11) - reminder that I hate the treadmill. Squeezed in 20 minutes with J before watching the Golden Globes, and pumped the speed up a bit higher than normal... ouch! But my rule is that it doesn't matter how long the run is, as long as I run, so this counts as #4. Without this resolution I would have skipped this workout so looks like this is working.
